What is the Nighthawk app?

NETGEAR routers have a special app called Nighthawk that you can use to set up your router and install it. Once it’s set up, you can use it to connect to the internet. The NETGEAR Nighthawk app can be downloaded from the Play Store and the App Store for both Android and iOS devices.

You can manage and keep an eye on your connected devices with the help of the NETGEAR Nighthawk app. The app can be downloaded on Apple and Google mobile platforms. The dashboard of the Nighthawk app lets you turn on Circle, and NETGEAR Armor, control guest WiFi, and do other things.

Using the Nighthawk app to setup a NETGEAR router

With the NETGEAR Nighthawk app on your Android or iOS device, it’s easy to set up your router. To set up the router with the Nighthawk app, do the following:

1. You can get the Nighthawk app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and install it on your phone.
2. Attach the antennas that came with the router and connect the modem to the Internet port.
3. Turn on your Router and wait for it to connect to the Wi-Fi network.
4. Once the Wi-Fi Network is set up, you can connect to it on your phone by going to Settings > Wi-Fi. (The WiFi network’s name (SSID) and password are written on the router’s label.
5. Now, on your phone or tablet, open the NETGEAR Nighthawk app.
6. Follow the steps on the screen to connect the Netgear router to the internet and set it up.

Which features are supported by the NETGEAR Nighthawk app?

• WiFi Setup: Enter the name of your WiFi network, the password (network key), and the security method.
• Devices List: You may get a list of all the devices that are connected to your network.
• Guests have access to WiFi: Set the guest WiFi network name, password (network key), and security mechanism.
• WiFi Sharing with a QR Code: To share your WiFi credentials, use a QR code.
• Speed evaluation: Start the Ookla Speed Test and store previous tests in the history pane.
• The circle should be enabled on your NETGEAR router for parental controls. Launch the Circle app from the Up app. A complete list of compatible routers can be found at netgear.com/circle.
• The Traffic Light. Monitor the Internet traffic that passes through your router over time.
• Internet-based management: Using the app, you can enable or disable remote access.
• Assist By navigating directly to the support page for your NETGEAR device, you may access support materials including as software downloads, knowledge base articles, manuals, and videos.
• Specifications of the router: Conveniently configure your parental controls, router, central WiFi, and guest WiFi all in one place.
• Updated Configuration: To finish the router installation, follow the on-screen instructions.
• View information about the router model, firmware version, and app version in the About section.
